Daily Dose #1

September 3, 2013: Vintage Fashion

As my first Daily Dose I want to talk about vintage fashion. In a world filled with crop tops and short skirts, cut off jeans and plunging neck lines, there is usually nothing left to the imagination when it comes to dressing sexy. However there is a way to dress sexy, still look classy and even add a little mystery that everyone will notice.
Class never goes out of style and the vintage styles that have kept popping up on runways and magazines have proven that more then ever. Timeless designers like CoCo Chanel created looks that are simply made for woman's bodies and flatter them without revealing everything for everyone to see.
Dita Von Tesse is a world famous burlesque star that has popularized vintage fashion and has helped women to realize that covering up can be sexy too. Her feminine and classic style set her apart early in her career and she has successfully resurrected some of the fashion trends from the 40s and 50s and brought them catapulting back into popular culture.

Here are some quick and easy tips to add some vintage style to your every day look:

A bold red lip paired along with winged eye liner is a greatvintage make up look. Soft, face framing curls for your hairand your look will be complete.

Find a jewel tone or floral dress that is knee
length or longer. A gathered waist is the most flattering
and is also the most popular style in vintage fashion.

Add a feather or a beaded embellishment
to a cute headband for a 1920's
headpiece.( You can find both at
stores like Michael's and Hobby Lobby).
